I wonder if this will escalate. Actually, I’ll be surprised if it doesn’t — there are too many groups out there who’d be happy to capitalise on a bullet-ridden Koran. So it’s not really a question of offering an apology, or of accepting one; it’s how this will be used politically. Brace for turbulence, ladies and gentlemen.

The most worrisome aspect of the whole incident, was the open groveling of a couple of US military officers in the face of these tribal leaders. In what should have been an open and shut case of “an apology offered”, the US officers in question went way over board.
The scene of an US officer kissing a Qur’an and begging forgiveness….is a major thing for these tribal Muslim leaders to witness. What the US actually did, is declare thier open subservance as “dhimmis” to Islam, and some day in the near future they just might come to regret what these officer did.
